Our Story
SueGum-SueGum was built for people who want more than “nice décor.” We built it for those who see their home as an extension of who they are—where the rug, the wall art, the throw on the chair… all say something without needing words.
We started on Etsy in August 2022 because we wanted to meet customers in a place they already trusted and loved for discovering creative work. From day one, the goal was simple: create original designs that help people express individuality of taste—without the “same-same” feel of mass-market products.
Since then, we’ve expanded to additional channels—including our own storefront—so more customers can find us where they already shop comfortably. As we grow, we’re also investing in content and curation: design inspiration, styling ideas, and collections that make it easier to find pieces that feel like you.
Our aesthetic pulls from the visual language people are gravitating toward right now: bold statement pieces, layered textures, expressive color palettes, and art that feels personal (think: the rhythm of mandala geometry, the drama of peacock tones, the calm of botanical patterns—without being locked into one “look”). The result is décor that feels curated, not copied.
How We Create Our Products
We are intentionally transparent about how our business works.
SueGum-SueGum operates using Print-On-Demand (POD) production and partners with multiple specialized manufacturers and fulfillment providers. This model allows us to:
- Offer a wide variety of designs and formats without compromising quality
- Produce items on demand, reducing waste and excess inventory
- Work with providers that specialize in specific product categories (rugs, textiles, wall art, etc.)
- Continuously refine production based on real customer feedback
Each partner is selected for craftsmanship, material quality, and the ability to consistently deliver high-resolution, durable products. Our approach allows us to focus on what we do best—design, curation, and customer experience—while collaborating with experts to bring those designs to life.

John “JK” Mathew founded SueGum-SueGum with a simple belief: technology should make life more meaningful—not more complicated. With a career spent building and scaling products that solve real user problems, JK brings a product-builder mindset to everything we create: listen closely, design intentionally, test thoughtfully, and improve continuously.
SueGum-SueGum is where that passion meets art. By combining original design with modern tools and a trusted network of production partners, JK set out to create décor that helps people build surroundings that support how they want to live—spaces that energize, calm, inspire, and reflect identity.
